VA Housing Goal Exceeded Northern California 110.33%

A Message from the VHA Homeless Programs Office

Not only did you meet Secretary McDonough’s goal of placing 38,000 Veterans into permanent housing in 2022—you exceeded this goal by 6.3%!

40,401 unique and individual Veterans were placed into permanent housing between January and December 2022 thanks to you.

Here in Northern CA we met it by 110.33% and YOU ALL contributed to it!

More than 21,000 housing placements occurred with the help of the SSVF RRH program.
More than 17,000 housing placements occurred with the help of the HUD-VASH program.
More than 14,000 housing placements occurred with the help of the GPD and HCHV contract program.
More than 4,000 housing placements occurred with the help of other VA housing programs

As a GPD provider, CANB is successfully reaching these goals.

'No Place to Call Home' Homelessness Series | Part 2 | ITV News Meridian...

As temperatures continue to stay below freezing - a cold weather warning remains in place across the region - and there are fears the bitter conditions could lead to a rising number of homeless people losing their lives.
Work has been taking place this week to protect those experiencing homelessness by moving rough sleepers into emergency shelters made available by local councils. As part of our series, I've been looking at how those services are coping while trying to care for an increasing number of people.
