Making It Through College: Students Building Tiny Homes in Vans and Trucks

At City College of San Francisco, a dozen or so students have formed a community, living off the grid in solar-powered camper vans at the edge of campus, building and maintaining their tiny homes together. Faced with some of the highest rent in the world, some say it’s a financial decision to emerge from school with a small savings, rather than saddled with debt.

Sabrina's Story - CANB Solano

CANB partnered with STIIIZY, a local dispensary business in Suisun, with the hopes of providing job opportunities for people in our programs. This video is about Sabrina, who did just that. She was able to get a job with STIIIZY and also utilized the resources provided by CANB.  She is currently no longer sleeping in her car as she is now at our shelter and is participating in our program and (of course) making income (and saving money!) from her job at STIIIZY.  This is setting her on the path to getting her own place for her and her son. She is looking to advance within the STIIIZY organization too. Take a look at this video to hear more about Sabrina’s journey.

Here is a touching and great story of how Sabrina was able to come back to California and get a job with the help of CANB Solano and partner Stiizy.
