The United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet millions of Americans still face hunger and food insecurity. This is in contrast to the fact that billions of tons of food in the U.S. go to waste each year.

The issue of insufficient food goes beyond just quantity; it also pertains to nutritional quality. Many people have to rely on free meals from church kitchens, where the ingredients often come from food banks.

Veteran Housing : DIXON VETS HABITAT HOUSE

Provides housing for 6 formerly homeless male Veterans in our Dixon Habitat for Humanity House. Clients have their own rooms and share the common areas of the home with the other residents. Clients are self-sufficient and are provided supportive services on an as needed basis.

All Solano County clients are to be registered through Resource Connect Solano – RCS. This ensures that everyone has a fair chance at obtaining housing where so little housing is available.

Veteran Housing : FAIRFIELD VETS

Provides housing and supportive services to 4 male Veterans. Clients receive case management services, access to benefits assistance, supplemental food, and transportation to appointments. Clients must be chronically homeless and disabled to be eligible for the program. All referrals to this program must come through Resource Connect Solano. Eligibility must be documented prior to entry into the program.

All Solano County clients are to be registered through Resource Connect Solano – RCS. This ensures that everyone has a fair chance at obtaining housing where so little housing is available.
